Swimming or hydro excercises are arguably the best work out for the body as it has the maximum blood flowing to your brain. Buntzen Lake Dog Park has two main off leash areas, one which is near the parking lot, which does not have the lake side and the one which in the interior by the lake side. By the lake side, you are allowed to take your dog for a swim.

The terrrian here is sandy in some places and rocky with grass in some places. The place sometimes gets mucky around winter and if the mud concerns you then it would be best for you to avoid those spots. However, there are bathrooms near by where you can wash up. The parks even have picnic tables, where you can enjoy having a picnic lunch when the weather is pleasant.

If you are looking for a quiter place for your dog, where you can train your dog without the excitement of too many dogs around, then you may want to use the one by the parking lot, which is a big place not many people use. This will help your dog, focus more on you with less destraction and is good even if your dog is shy.

The park is crowded during the summer months; it is an attraction mainly for hikers and picnicer. This is a place people come and visit all year round especially on hot weekends. So if you heading for the Buntzen Lake Park with your dog then it is best for you to go there early.
