Bear Dog Park is located on 1575 Pleasant Grove Boulevard in Roseville near the baseball fields. The park was named after the K9 who worked for the Roseville police department for 6 years, he was the first K9 to work in this department and his success in protecting the society, increased the K9 unit in the Roseville Police department and this K9 also had the dog park named after him.
The park has two separate areas to exercise dogs; one area is especially for big dogs and the other for small dogs. This is done because, many owners of small dogs find their dogs very temperamental and attacking, so they fear that their dog will be mauled up if they mixed around with bigger dogs. Some of the amenities at Bear Dog Park include are: walking pathways around to walk your dog, poop bag dispensers to help you clean up after your dog, obstacle areas to help you exercise, discipline and tire your dog, wading pool areas where you and your dog can have some fun in the water; probably teaching the little ones to swim, dog shower areas: which comes in handy especially when the soil is moist and the dog messes himself or herself by playing and lawling on the ground. The place also has shade structures to shade your dog and you from the harsh sun, expecially when you are resting.
The park remains closed on Tuesdays for maintenance from 6am to 10am as the park authorities maintain thorough upkeep. It is also important to note that the dogs here must be licensed and have paper record of all vaccinations. Sick dogs or dogs on heat are not allowed in the park and dogs acting aggressive here are either put back on the leash or removed from the park. |
