The Howliday Inn is the best doggy boarding in the Portland area. The staff and owners here are really good and experienced and if you stay within a 30 minute drive of the Howliday Inn then your pet will even be dropped off at your place.

Besides The Howliday Inn being visually pleasing, this place has been in the dog boarding business for years now and has developed expertise in the matter. The dogs here receive a lot of love and personal attention for their unique needs.

The place is 75000sqft dog haven. The play areas are open and the flooring is matted with rubber, creating a huge indoor park, which is more like one big communal space. For the dogs which are smaller and shyer or old, there is a smaller place known as Toyland, where your dog will be admitted provided the usual pack at Toyland accepts him.

The outdoor play area also has rubber matter flooring. The place is completely secure and is canine accessible all day long. The overnight boarding guest rooms are located in a separate place in the Hotel; the rooms here are about 25sqft, sufficient for two big dogs of the same family or three medium size dogs. The rooms are used by the dogs only during eating their meals and sleeping. The rest of their time they are free play around in the open area as much or as little as they choose to.

The Hotel is self contained, with its own heating, ventilation and air conditioning. If the dog is to be on a special diet then this place has a freezer, refrigerator and microwave.

For dogs to be eligible to stay at the Howliday Inn, they would need to go through an evaluation, where your dog would need to stay here the whole day and your dog’s behavior will be observed as to how he gets along with humans and other dogs in order to know how comfortable they are in this environment.
