For every dog owner, dog is like one of the family members; so it is important to take care of his health and well being. As a caring owner of your pet, you need to look after your dog to protect him from diseases. One of the diseases that all dogs suffer is worming.
Worm infestation is very common in dogs which cause distress in dogs. There are 2 types of worms which trouble your pet – tapeworms and roundworms. Roundworms look like earthworms, but thinner than them. They are short in length and curled up into a coil. Tapeworms are long, flat like ribbons and they are divided into segments.
Worms are usually passed through in the motion or vomited up. Most of puppies are infected from their birth. These warms live in the intestine of dog and feeding on what your dog consumes and steals his food. Your dog can be highly infected by the presence of these worms which causes your dog undernourished, lacking energy and a dull coat. Other symptoms of worming are weight loss, vomiting and diarrhea.
Another important reason for spreading of worms is fleas. Fleas carry worm eggs from one animal to other, causing infection to other animals. If you find any flea while brushing your dog’s fur, treat your dog with dog worming granules or tablets and a treatment for the fleas. Worming granules or tablets are tasteless. You can directly orally feed your dog or you can mix those granules or tablets with his/her food.
To reduce the risk of spreading worms, you should keep the place clean and tidy where your dog lives. You need to wash his/her bed regularly and keep the area clean where your dog eats and remove your dog’s feces daily from your garden. Wash your hands after contact with your dog. |
