Hydrobath for dogs

Not all dogs like water, so giving most dogs a bath becomes a struggle. There are some pooches that will run and hide under a bed the very moment they know that a bath is coming their way.

This may be different with dogs that love water such as Labrador Retrievers, which were used in hunting and retrieving ducks in water bodies. For bathing all these dogs, there is Vet recommended and approved system called the hydrobath.

The hydrobath is a tub like container, in which you keep your dog, which consists of spray of water resembling a water jet. This water is generally hot which penetrates your dog’s fur coat and not only washes the fur and takes off dead fur roots but also cleans the skin beneath.

The water used in the hydrobath is generally treated with medicated solutions that helps treat the dog’s fur and skin and rids the pooch of parasites such as flees and ticks. The water in the hydrobath is collected from the drain, filtered, reheated and pumped through the spray again and the cycles continue. After a pooch is washed then the water is drained and the hydrobath is then rinsed, disinfected and filled with fresh water for the next pooch.

The advantages of using a hydrobaths are various, firstly your save a lot of water in bathing your pooch, secondly since the water is already medicated and your dog is washed and wiped in the tub, he has a nice clean and shiny coat with out wetting the area outside, leaving you with a dry bathroom. The hot water is good for dogs with arthritis and since the hydrobath provides deep and thorough cleaning, your dog does not give off that wet dog smell after the bath.

Overall, the hydrobath is all pros with almost no cons, so if you get a good deal for a hydrobath service then do not hesitate but go for it.
