Everybody likes to have a toy whether they like to call it a toy or not. A boy’s toys would be his motorbike or car and for the girls it could be their teddy bear but for a dog it is literally something that he can play with it. As dogs do not have hand, it becomes obvious that they play with their toy only with their mouth. Therefore, their toys are more of something which they can bite and chew.
The usual toys for dogs are tennis and rubber balls, which help them exercise their jaw and keep the teeth clean. Playing is a very important part of a dog’s life and an intelligent dog is identified by his playfulness too. You must be careful however as to how it is that your dog is playing with the toy.
Your dog could be just plainly destructive and showing aggression when you try to take the toy out of your dogs grip. If this happens then it is advisable to play with the dog using toys, where he will be running around a lot, like a game of fetch, which will help exhaust your dog into being more submissive towards you and this should help you discipline your dog.
There are also chew toys available in the market, which are edible for dogs. The toys may be in the form of bones, which are dehydrated and tightly packed cartlidge, which act as chewies for the dogs and many have doggy treats inside them, with the intention that the dog may have a treat after he finishes playing with the toy. There are also soft toys available, which a dog may just want to carry arround as though he were playing with a pair of socks.
So the next time you are shopping for friends or family keep your doggy in mind and buy him or her, a toy. |
